Lost Through History
My Major Project in my final year of University consisted of rigorous research, experiments, iterations and planning to lead me to my final outcome, a solution grounded in both critical thinking and creative exploration.
My project focused on theorists and inventors, who contributed to the discovery of sound to colour connections, that have gotten lost throughout history. I wanted to acknowledge and celebrate their life’s work in a typographic way.
The colours of the different books were informed by primary research, and what colours my target audience associated to different personality types relating to the theorists themselves.
The outcome was a series of four books, each honing in on one specific theorist and inventor, alongside a large poster and a small poster, promoting each book. The target audience for this project was GenZ, which heavily influenced the visual direction, tone, and decisions used throughout the design process.
